Today at the Museum
Functional Performances at Herzlyia Museum

"Today at the Museum" was the first in a series of interventions at Herzlyia museum that camouflaged as museum activities.
For this piece the text on the information sign that welcomes visitors to the museum, was changed daily for 123 days. The piece was operated by Nili, the museum's receptionist.
Each of the daily phrases were taken from a common art-assignment shared by my colleagues.
The sign no longer provided authoritative information but a rather an open-ended perspective that highlights the process and raise awareness of modes of display.
Nili was also brilliantly documenting (and interpreting) the sign every day with photos taken with different visitors, museum employees and other pedagogical and social scenes.
